Chosen as the most beautiful Course in Finland!
Our Etelä-Saimaa course is built on the shores of southern Lake Saimaa, on the naturally beautiful and rocky island of Tuosa.
The course was designed by Swedish course architect Peter Fjällman.
The layout suits the area perfectly. Pines and spruces line the fairways that meander along the shoreline, creating the impression of a tight playing area—but the narrowness is often just an illusion. Still, it’s true that a patient and strategic player will score well here while enjoying some of the most stunning scenery in Finland: rugged shoreline cliffs, small coves, and the ever-present blue waters of Lake Saimaa.
Well-maintained fairways of a comfortable length, along with smooth, logical, and consistent greens, help keep the joy of the game alive throughout the round.
Unique features of the island include the historic Salpalinja fortification line, which borders the course in several places, and Natura-protected areas near a few of the holes. And one quirky rule worth knowing: you may need to account for external interference, as fox families nesting on the island are known to collect golf balls for their own mysterious purposes.

Practice areas
Etelä-Saimaa Golf also offers comprehensive practice facilities.
The driving range covers an area of approximately 150 x 230 meters, with most hitting areas located on natural grass. When needed, hitting mats are also available. There are around 40 hitting bays in total, including five covered bays with mats.
Next to the range, you’ll find a putting green and a chipping green that also includes a bunker area for practicing sand shots.
Near the first tee, there’s another green where you can warm up your short game before starting your round.
The Etelä-Saimaa driving range operates with a rechargeable Solo Card and most major payment cards. Solo Cards can be purchased and reloaded at the caddiemaster’s desk.
